What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a comprehensive quote, ideally I need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Anyone can advertise as an entertainer, take a few photos and put up a website. For very young children, their basic entertainment may be ok - but you will notice the difference straight away. Established entertainers will have: Enhanced DBS Clearance, Insurance (£10m Public Liability) and be a member of The Magic Circle. Ideally also video clips would be useful to watch, so you can see their performances.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

As a young boy I always wanted to be a magician. At 13 years old I performed for a school class, the year
after for the whole school of 250 children, and I began earning pocket money as a magician. I now have 25 years of experience and have performed at over 3,000 shows. I have reached the highest level possible in the Magic Circle and won the highest competition - The Magic Circle Close Up Magician of the Year Winner -
This led to performances on all major TV stations. I've performed for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and Cable as well as on international stations.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I performed for an event I got through Add to Event on both 25th and 26th November. On the Saturday with Close Up Magic and a family show, and on the Sunday for a children's birthday party. Both events were so different. It was lovely to hear that I far surpassed their entertainment from the previous year and was "far and beyond what we expected.
